- The venue - what sort of venue is it? Pub, Bar, Club, Restaurant... What sort of clientèle normally frequent this venue
Pub with separate room for comedy. Normally a music venue. At 12.30pm the venue was fairly empty. Sometimes there'd be one or two people having a quiet drink, other days 10 or so. The majority of people in the venue at that time were there to see our show, however. Fantastic location.

- The performance area - stage, separate room, open air?
Separate room with stage, lighting.

- The team of staff at the venue - did they assist the shows? Did the show get in the way of the normal business etc?
Very friendly and helpful staff, with someone on hand to assist with the technical setup.

- How you advertised your show - Fringe brochure, flyering, posters, word of mouth etc
A lot of people arrived holding the Free Fringe brochure, although we would flyer for an hour or two before the show and I would often do some flyering in the evening. The Mile was usually fairly quiet at the time before the show so some days it was tough. We also displayed posters in the venue and the venue's window, as well as being advertised on the venue's show list above their door. For the timeslot, I think we were most reliant on audience picking our show out from the brochure.

- How your shows went in terms of audience numbers - solid numbers every show? Did it vary by day? Affected by weather?
Quiet day seemed to be Wednesdays, with the weekends always packed. Overall the average number was around 25.

- Your show itself - what worked, what didn't work, what needs to change
We found we needed a compere to tie the show together better and warm the audience up properly as it was their first show of the day. The 3 hander plus MC worked well because it gave the audience a variety of styles.

- Buckets - we don't need accounts, but how were the donations to the buckets - bad, good, generous

- Technical set-up at the venue - what worked, what didn't work, what needs to change
Good setup at the venue, the room didn't get any noise from the bar, it had a stage, good mic and lighting, plus air con in the room if it got too hot. The show following us would always have a large audience waiting in the bar so it could be a squeeze to swap over.

- Any other learning points for anyone involved - what worked, what didn't work, what needs to change
The timeslot was a bit tricky sometimes. On Sundays the venue would open at 12.30, meaning our show had to start late; we would have to do short sets. We found material often needed to be toned down and they usually appreciated a chattier style of delivery and banter.
