Kane & Abel show report (annexe)

This was our third year in a row in the Annexe, and once again it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. All the staff at Liquid Rooms go well above and beyond in helping with everything involved in running a show at the venue. We cannot praise them enough. Having attended most of the venues as part of the PBH, I would say Liquid Rooms is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best venue around. The rooftop (sheltered) beer garden is a real benefit and help get people into the venue and makes them stay and come back again. The Annexe as a performance space is perfect, it can seat about 130 but with the alterations made to the bar can get up to 150-160 in with standees. Our show was full everyday, apart from one quite Thursday, and was full inc standees at weekends and Fridays and Mondays. Flyering on the Royal Mile proves highly effective The lighting and sound is perfect for Fringe shows - three lights that can be dimmed and two microphones and plug in for iPhone. There is also the benefit of the option of a projector. House lights can be controlled via a switch by the entrance, which allows to have the audience enter with the lights on and then turn them off before you start. This helps add an extra air of professionalism to proceedings.
Overall, The Liquid Rooms is a fantastic venue and one any act would be lucky perform at!
