- The venue - Bar. Normally frequented by people looking for a late night drinking establishment with live music. Throughout the year it is one of the only places in Edinburgh open till 5am, and as such has a reputation as a bit of a last chance saloon, which works in its favour as a lot of people have heard of it!

- The performance area - small stage, approx 2mx2m? Baby Grand piano on stage so not much room for anything else, but stage not very raised so room to do stuff on floor in front if you don't mind being up in the faces of the front row!

- The team of staff at the venue - Staff were excellent. The managers we had most contact with, Billy and Guy, went out of their way to help us, let us store our gear in their flat upstairs, even gave us a lift back to our accommodation to pick up a lead we left behind one day! Shows don't really interfere with their regular clientele as they only really get busy in the wee small hours!

- How you advertised your show - Fringe brochure, flyering, posters, press release, word of mouth.

- How your shows went in terms of audience numbers - We opened at the weekend, and it was busy. Then we had monday off, and tues - thurs were pretty quiet after that, just a handful. Picked up a bit at the weekend, then in our second week more people started to come as we had some good reviews and word of mouth was obviously working in our favour...

- Buckets - Pretty generous. We ate and drank for the time we were there (2 of us) and hardly needed to go to the cash machine. That said, we had a book and CD so were using that as leverage to increase the size of the pot (£5 or more you can take a CD, £7 or more you can take a book, £10 or more you can have both, sort of thing).

- Technical set-up at the venue - Very good. They have a live musician most nights so their sound system is pretty professional and worked for what we needed.

- Admin & Communication process (between Free Fringe, Captains, Venues and you) - All went smoothly, no complaints.

- Any other learning points for anyone involved - We were really happy with this venue, from our side of things it couldn't really have been better as a free fringe venue. Hope to be back there this year!
