For our first experience of Edinburgh we couldn't have had a nicer and more welcoming home than the Phoenix bar.
The staff were so helpful and made us feel part of the furniture. Chatting away, laughing at our show and so on. (That was very welcome!!)
The bar itself was in a great area and a really nice mix of people came down to The Cellar where our performance area was.
As a radio play we had exactly the equipment we needed and a good size of stage.
While Fringe is tough and our audiences were small, we felt comfortable and a sense of coming home at each performance. Especially as The Phoenix kindly offered us a second slot when another act "disappeared"
There was such sense of camraderie with the other acts. There were times that the work was tough but we always felt safe and at home.
Hence The Men of Hour happily returning for Fringe 2010!

How good is that? We (MuckComedy) played there in 2008 and covered some shows in 2007 - it is a superb little bar and as you say, very homely. Ten people make it feel like full room and the atmosphere is great when it is rammed (with maybe 30 people!). The management and staff are very supportive as you say, the Guinness is lovely and there are some great restaurants in the area. Good to hear you're returning in 2010.
